Educational History:
I graduated from Emporia High School in 2006 and from Kansas State University in December of 2010.
Degrees and Certifications:
I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with a focus of Social Studies.
Professional Development:
I have frequently attended Gilder Lehrmand lectures on various American History lecturers.
I have attended the Bill of Rights Institute lectures on the First Amendment.
I completed the US History AP course which enables me to teach AP History.
Current Position:
The 2017-2018 school year is my first at Augusta High School. I currently am teaching American History and Geography. I also am the JV volleyball coach.
Previous Position:
I taught at Wichita High School North for six years prior to my move to Augusta. While there I taught early American History and World History. I coached both volleyball and softball and was the club sponsor for the Harry Potter Club.
Family Information:
I married my husband in 2009 and moved with him to Wichita after I graduated from Kansas State. We have two daughters, both born in July. My girls were born in 2013 and 2016. They will attend Andover schools where my husband and I now live once they reach school age.
Personal Information:
I have many hobbies, though with little children at home most of my time is devoted towards them. When I do have free time I enjoy reading and writing. I refinish furniture and work on various art projects with my husband.
