This school year (2017/2018) is my first year at the high school level and my first year, here at Augusta. I am currently teaching Vocal Music and have five choirs and two barbershop groups.
I started teaching at Chase County Elementary school in 2012 where I also taugh beginning band, moved back to Wichita and taught at White Elementary for two years and then Mead Middle School for one year. During my time at ESU I was able to work with a church choir and work with the a cappella choir at ESU as well. I had a guest conductor appearance for the Christmas concert in 2011 at ESU as well. While student teaching I was able to work with k-12 students the entire time at the Madison/Virgil school district.
I have a four stepsisters and a multitude of cousins. Two on my mother and stepfathers side (twins), as well as two on my father and stepmothers side. The multitude of cousins comes from my fathers side of the family where he grew up as one of eight kids in the home.
Some of my hobbies include, growing and maintaining a beard, bearding, the beard club I am in called the Bearded Villains, in which we help the community through charitable works and acts of service. Some other hobbies I have include “freestyle bearding” as well as BMX biking and playing the drums. When I am not teaching you can find me playing drums at my church in Wichita or napping. Quite often I am preparing for the next performance or round of music that I will be performing or teaching my students. Live music and concerts are also one of my favorite things to experience.
