I am from Topeka and graduated from Topeka High School. I have a B.S. in Business – Computer Information Systems and a B.A. in Business Education from Emporia State University. I am currently working on my Masters in Educational Administration which I will complete in May 2019 from Emporia State University.
I have taught at Augusta High School since August 2007 and have been here ever since.. I currently teach Animation, Audio/Video Production, Youth Entrepreneurs, Video Game Design, and Web Page Design.
Along with my teaching duties, I am currently the Head Bowling Coach as well as the Assistant Varsity Softball Coach.
Prior to teaching at Augusta High School I did my student teaching in the Business Department at Emporia High School. I also substitute taught for that district for a semester.
I have been married to my husband, James Roberts, for 20 years. He is currently a Special Education teacher at Rose Hill Primary School. We moved our family to Augusta in 2013. Prior to that, we owned a few small businesses in Emporia, Kansas.
We have two children that both attend Augusta High School and are very involved in the athletic programs. Our daughter, Darienne, is a senior and our son, Xander, is a freshman. Along with our children, we have two dogs, Gracie the Westie, and Ava the Great Dane.
I am a sports fanatic! I love watching the Kansas City Royals and our family takes regular trips in the summer to watch them play. We are huge Kansas Jayhawk fans too, Rock Chalk!
I still enjoy playing sports. I love to play slowpitch softball with both my kids and my husband, and I love to bowl. I also enjoy getting my hands dirty with home improvement projects and have no problems using power tools to do it.
