Enrollment Information

Pre-Enrollment for 2025-2026

PRE-Enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year will open in January.

Serious consideration should be given to the selection of the proper classes during spring enrollment. Each student is required to carry a full schedule of classes (4 blocks per day plus ACE, 8 classes per semester).

Prior to the first day of class, online enrollment forms must be updated and completed and all fees paid in full. Class fees (some classes require a fee for materials and supplies) for the 2025-2026 school year are subject to change as per USD402 Board of Education approval. Any changes will be determined prior to the start of the fall.

Check out the Course Handbook for course offerings for the 25-26 school year!

Class Change Policy:

  • All students should take the enrollment process seriously. Students need to put a significant amount of thought and effort into class selection at enrollment time. Students need to initially select the classes desired without anticipating changes.

  • The classes selected by the student during the spring enrollment will be considered as the final enrollment. Schedule change requests will not be granted for classes not on the student’s enrollment form except in special circumstances.

  • If a schedule change request must be made, the student must fill out a schedule change request form, which will be evaluated by the counselors and administrators. These requests will only be evaluated in August prior to the start of the school year.

  • 2nd semester schedule change requests should also be completed the August prior to the start of the school year. 2nd semester schedules may be changed based on student performance in 1st semester classes.

  • The school may initiate schedule changes if it is in the student’s best interest. The school may also initiate schedule changes based on disciplinary reasons. Any such changes must have the approval of the principal. Administration reserves the right to place students in classes best suited for their needs.

  • Any senior, who is on track to graduate and passes all first semester classes, are not required to have an ACE class 2nd semester and can shorten their schedule to a minimum of 5 classes for second semester. However, seniors will be placed back into ACE if they have an F at the end of any 4.5-week grading period.

Here are the answers to some Frequently Asked Questions.

General Enrollment Questions:

How do I know which math/science/english class to take next?

Refer to the core class section in the course handbook. Each course description will tell you which class comes next. There is also a flow chart in the Course Handbook for Math and Science.  If you still have questions, talk to your math/science/english teacher.

Taking College Classes:

  1. How do I take college classes in high school and then transfer those credits to college?

The college classes we offer in the AHS building are part of an agreement with the Kansas Board of Regents colleges. (WSU, K-State, ESU, KU, PSU, FHSU). These classes will transfer as GenEd credit for most programs at these colleges. Specific questions about how classes will transfer for any other in-state or out-of-state colleges should be directed to the admissions office at that institution.

Not all of the classes we offer are required GenEd classes for EVERY program at the KBOR colleges. We strongly suggest students research programs they are interested in and take classes that will best fulfill the GenEd requirements for their program of choice.

  1. Where can I find all the college classes that I can take at AHS?

A general list of college course offerings can be found on page 10 of the course handbook. More detailed information about each class can be found within the course description section of the handbook. All college classes offered at AHS are in the Xello Course Planner.
