  • Graduated Pittsburg State University (Pittsburg, KS)

  • Bachelor of Science degree from Pittsburg State University
    • Major – Biology (including Genetics, A & P, Zoology, Environmental Science)
    • Minor – Physical Science (including Chemistry, Physical Science, Earth/Space)
  • Master of Education degree from Wichita State University
    • Emphasis – Curriculum & Instruction

Current Position:

  • Began teaching Biology, Life Science, and Earth Science at Augusta High School in 1994.
    • Have also taught Physical Science, Anatomy & Physiology, Health Science I & II, Intro Bio
    • Am currently teaching Biology, A & P, and Intro Bio

Previous Position:

  • Taught at my old high school as an interim substitute for a teacher on maternity leave (Spring 1994)
  • Have also taught several Buterl CC classes as an adjunct instructor, including General Biology, General Physical Science, and Medical Terminology – earliest classes were taught either face-to-face or blended, but current courses are all online.

Personal Information:

  • Married in 1988
  • Have three sons
  • ALL my boys have attended Augusta Schools

I love to listen to music, spend time with family, play disc golf at Garvin Park, go fishing, play guitar, sing, and do lots of heavy reading and brain puzzles (for mental acuity)

I also enjoy working on cars, home renovation, construction, and personal woodworking projects when I have the time.
