About Me

Educational History:

Graduate of Fort Scott High School, 1990

B.S.Ed. Pittsburg State University, 1994

M.S.Ed. University of Kansas, 1999

Current Position:

I have spent my entire career teaching students with multiple and complex disabilities. I spent my first two years commuting from El Dorado to Newton. In 1996 I was offerred a position at Augusta Middle School and was there until moving the Augusta High School in 2019. I have had the privilege to work with a phenomenal group of students who have taught me more than I ever thought I needed to know. It is a distinct honor to be able to work with these students and their families so closely for some many years.

Personal Information:

My husband, who teaches for Circle USD 375, and I have three beautiful children.

Having three active young children means that when I am not at school I am completely absorbed in their lives. Between dance classes, gymnastics practice, music lessons, and Cub Scouts, not to mention all the seasonal sports opportunities available to elementary aged children, I keep quite busy! When I am not chasing my children around or making a dent in the mountains of laundry small people seem to produce, I enjoy reading and cooking. Our family also likes to unplug in nature every chance we get so you can often find us out hiking, biking, or relaxing by the campfire in front of our tent.
