English Teacher
I graduated in 2002 from Newton High School in Newton, Kansas. I graduated in 2011 from Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas.
During my time at WSU, I earned my bachelor’s degree in secondary education, English. I am certified to teach 6-12 grades in English Language Arts.
In 2019, I attended the KATE Conference in Wichita, Kansas. That was a phenomenal experience!
I began teaching at Augusta High School in 2017. It has been a fantastic experience! Prior to working at the high school, I was a substitute teacher in the Augusta School district. I teach English language arts to sophomores and juniors.
I began teaching full-time in 2012. When I began teaching, I worked in Wichita at Truesdell Middle School teaching English language arts.
I have been married since 2004, and my husband and I have many children. My oldest go to Augusta High School. My middle child goes to St. James, along with her younger brother who attends pre-K there. Our baby is only two, and we have been blessed to have his uncle care for him during the day. Along with a dog and two cats, it is a full house—and we love every minute!
Besides reading (English teacher!), I also love to travel and spend time with friends and family. We are avid swimmers, though not competitively; and our kids keep us very busy traveling to and from recreational activities. We also enjoy traveling- I have lived in two countries, four states, and eleven cities/towns— and have visited many others! One life goal is to travel to every state in the United States of America and every continent in the world.
