Augusta High School Hall of Fame Criteria

The Augusta High School Hall of Fame is founded to recognize and celebrate the distinguished accomplishments and contributions of Augusta High School alumni, members of the staff and administration. Honorees will be recognized for outstanding achievement in their chosen field, leadership, the arts, athletics and volunteer/community service. Nominees with outstanding records of achievement deserving of special recognition are eligible. 

Areas of Consideration

Achievement – Alumni or staff (teacher/administrator/coach) at Augusta High School whose distinguished actions have led to outstanding recognition in their chosen vocation on a local, national or international level are eligible.
• Leadership Alumni or staff (teacher/administrator/coach) at Augusta High School whose leadership has led to outstanding recognition in their vocation or another area of expertise or outside interest on a local, national or international level are eligible.
• Arts – Alumni or staff (teacher/administrator/coach) at Augusta High School who has established an outstanding record of achievement in the visual or performing arts on a local, national or international level that would make them deserving of special recognition are eligible.
• Athletics - Alumni or staff (teacher/administrator/coach) at Augusta High School who have established outstanding records of achievement in their chosen sport(s) on a local, national or international level that would make them deserving of special recognition are eligible.
• Volunteer/Community Service - Alumni or staff (teacher/administrator/coach) at Augusta High School whose actions and/or achievements may not be categorized in the above, but are deserving of such recognition and honor. 

Criteria for Selection

Nominees must be former students or staff (teacher/administrator/coach) who have graduated from and/or served at Augusta High School. Members of the committee will have discretion in unique and/or special circumstances when a student did not graduate from Augusta High School (i.e. death, accident). Special teams may also be nominated for selection into the Augusta High School Hall of Fame. The committee may also consider post-graduate activities including college and professional experience. All nominees must represent the Augusta High School’s tradition of excellence and values.

 • Former students and teams will be eligible for nomination either 10 years from graduation or 10 years from the team’s accomplishment(s).
• Former staff (teacher/administrator/coach) with a minimum of 5 years employment will be eligible for nomination into the Augusta High School Hall of Fame 5 years from the time their employment with Augusta High Schools ends.
• Should members and/or relatives of members of the committee be nominated, that member will be excused from the discussion session and voting on such a candidate. • There will be a maximum of 4 inductees for the first two years and 2 inductees each year thereafter.
• All nominees will be judged on their significant and/or long-term contributions to Augusta High
