I began teaching at Augusta Public Schools USD 402 in 1993. I teach beginning band, high school band and high school jazz ensemble.
I began my career at Hanover, KS where I taught 5-12 vocal & instrumental music. I also enlisted in the Kansas Army National Guard in 2000 as a 51B (Carpenter). I deployed to Kuwait and Iraq in 2003 as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Currently, I am a member of the 35th Infantry Division Band in Olathe, KS.
My wife (Penny) and I were married in 1990. We have 2 children; Katie (born 1995) and Jackson (born 1997). Both attended Augusta Schools (Garfield, AMS & AHS) and graduated. We also have a grandson (Aiden, born 2014).
I am an avid sports fan (Royals, Chiefs and K-State). I play trumpet in several professional groups including The Delano Wind Ensemble, The Delano Jazz Orchestra and the Augusta United Methodist Church Band of Churchmen. I also sing tenor in the church choir. My wife and I travel throughout the US when we have a chance.
