Tom Penney is a distinguished graduate of Augusta High School's Class of 1965, and a celebrated figure in the school's athletic history. During his senior year in the fall of 1964, Tom demonstrated extraordinary leadership and athletic prowess leading to him receiving All-American honors. After high school Tom went on to play football at the University of Nebraska.Tom Penney’s legacy at Augusta High School is further cemented by the fact that his football jersey number, 22, remains the only retired number in any sport at Augusta High School. His outstanding athleticism, leadership, and dedication to sports continue to inspire and serve as an example for future generations of Augusta High School athletes.
