Augusta High School

Several members of the Augusta High School Jazz Ensemble auditioned for the South Central Kansas Music Educators Association (SCKMEA) Honor Jazz Band on October 1 at Rose Hill High School—and we are so proud to share that THREE Orioles earned a spot!

Luke Marteney – Trumpet (1st Chair!)

Carlyn Hollingsworth – Piano

These talented students will rehearse and perform with the Honor Jazz Band on Saturday, November 8 at Goddard High School. They are also now eligible to audition for the Kansas All-State Jazz Ensemble in January at Salina South High School.

The SCKMEA Honor Jazz Ensemble will be under the direction of Lisa Hittle—a distinguished Kansas music educator, former Stan Kenton Orchestra member, Wichita Arts Educator of the Year (2006), and Homer Osborne Award recipient for her impact on jazz education.
